In His Family :: Quietly Through the Psalms

“God sets the solitary in families…” Psalm 68:6

Solitary. Forsaken. Wretched.

God takes the social outcasts, the ignored, the forgotten and places them in families.

In His family.

God has a family — a chosen group of people. They are the Israelites. God has made a covenant with them to never leave them nor abandon them. And He never has. He never will.

He wants them. Longs for them. Won’t be separate from them.

And He wants the rest of us too.

Ephesians 1:4-5 tells that He chose each of us before He formed the foundations of the earth and that our destiny is adoption into His family.

He wants us to be in His family.

His family.

Not lonely. Not outcast or forgotten. Not abandoned, but chosen and cherished.

Loved.

God sets the solitary in families.

Lord, thank you for not leaving us alone. Thank you for choosing us despite all our faults and imperfections. Thank you for loving us. Amen.
