Everyone loves to receive a gift this time of year, so why not give one (or two or twenty) that will point your loved ones to Jesus? Here are a few of my recommendations.
For the family — The Jesus Story Book Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name is my all time favorite children’s Bible. Not only does it contain wonderful illustrations to capture the attention of every child, it also is written in such a way that will points the reader to the grace of Jesus Christ. The author wonderfully shows how every Bible story, from both the New and Old Testaments, truly does whisper His name.
For parents — Give Them Grace: Dazzling Your Kids with the Love of Jesus and Shepherding a Child’s Heart: Parent’s Handbook are both easy reads that illustrate the point that every parenting opportunity is a chance to point our children to God’s grace.
For brand new parents — Sleep Sound in Jesus is a beautiful album with plenty of lullabies to sooth a sleepy baby off into slumber. It’s one of my favorites!
For the newly weds (or any couple for that matter) — The Power of a Praying Wife and The Power of a Praying Husband. Okay, I have to be honest, I haven’t actually read the book for husbands, but I have read the one for wives and others by the author Stormie Omartain. I trust that she and her husband, who co-wrote The Power of Praying Husband with her, will encourage the readers to pray scripture for their spouse, themselves, and their marriage in each of these books.
And here are a few more gift ideas that are just for fun.
For the art lover — These cute plagues and this precious sign would look good on just about anyone’s wall.
For the oil enthusiasts (or maybe even the novice) — This oil set was one of my first. I have used it for everything from skin problems to aroma therapy, and even during my pray time.
For the musician — These guitar picks are just too cute not to share. I don’t play the guitar well (or really at all) so I can’t truly recommend them, but they’d fit well in someone’s stocking, right?
So, there they are. A few ideas for your last minute Christmas shopping. I hope you find them helpful.
Only by grace,
Kelli
