So when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth. And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him. His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast. When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not know it; but supposing Him to have been in the company, they went a day’s journey, and sought Him among their relatives and acquaintances. So when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him. Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers. So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.” And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them. Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. (‭Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭39-52‬ NKJV)

*****

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. (‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭5-10‬ NKJV)

Jesus came to be about His Father’s business.  That business being to reveal who He is.

He is the way —

As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. (2 Samuel 22:31 NKJV)

Teach me Your way, O LORD, And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies. (Psalm 27:11 NKJV)

And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:24 NKJV)

There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. (Proverbs 14:12 NKJV)

Let the wicked forsake his ways, And the unrighteous man this thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:7 NKJV)

He is the truth —

And I bowed my head and worshiped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the way of truth to take the daughter of my master’s brother for his son.  (Genesis 24:48 NKJV)

Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.  (Psalm 51:6 NKJV)

He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. (Psalm 91:4 NKJV)

Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Your law is truth. (Psalm 119: 142 NKJV)

His is the life —

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. (Genesis 2:7 NKJV)

For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonment for the soul. (Leviticus 17:11 NKJV)

But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.  See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statues, and His judgements, that you may live and multiply; and the LORD your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. (Deuteronomy 30:14-16 NKJV)

This is my comfort in my affliction, Your word has given me life. (Psalm 119:50 NKJV)

Lord, no other way but Yours is perfect.  Reveal to me my wicked ways so that I may turn from them and turn towards You.  Please, speak truth into my soul.  Help me not to ignore the voice of Your Spirit, but to listen, to believe, and to obey.  Jesus, thank You for allowing your perfect blood to be shed so that I may have life — a life that is easily found when I choose to love You, when I choose to walk in Your ways and obey Your word.  Thank You, Lord, for Your word for it reveals to me Your way, Your truth, and Your life.  I will cling to and search You word daily Lord, for it reveals Jesus.  Amen.
